Assistant Waterfront Director: the ideal candidate will be available to work prior to the start of classes getting the boats into the water and after the close of classes getting the boats stored for the winter. We sail Optis, 420s, Lasers, and Topaz Taz. The position calls for a versatile team player who can teach at all levels, but especially with our rapidly improving racing classes.
Maintenance: this is a part-time position with hours in the afternoons Monday to Friday with occasional hours on the weekends helping to support events. Responsibilities include emptying the trash bins, taking the trash to the curb on pick up days, cleaning the bathrooms, picking up trash, and cleaning classrooms. Some work is required before and after our season – getting the facility ready to open and securing it at the end of the season.
Woodworking/Boatbuilding: this is a part-time position. Primary instructor of two classes: teaching boat building and model building. In the boat building class – the students and instructor will complete the skiff started last summer and start a new skiff. In the model building class – the instructor will help the students build their own model boats. The classes are Tu and Th starting at 10:00 AM and ending at 3:00 PM.
USCG Captain (6 – pack or higher license) : the position is part-time and between two and five hours per day, three days per week. The Captain is responsible for teaching a variety of classes: Power Squadron, Critter Cruise, and Island Picnic.
Sea Fleas: A part-time position taking younger children (ages 4 to 6) out is a row boat. This class introduces boating and teaches the basics of rowing. Emphasis is on becoming comfortable around the water. This class includes a general introduction to the KBIA cove where the children will row, sing songs, explore Strawberry Island and have fun.
Sales/Cashier at the KBA Shipyard Store: The sales/cashier position is responsible for maintaining guest service, generating sales, merchandising, signing, pricing, cash register operations (POS) and loss prevention in adherence to all company policy/store standards. Brew Tour Guide / Tasting Room Supervisor: Here's a fun way to be a part of the passion at KBC Brewing/Shipyard Brewing facility.
