Paint the Town Red

This February, the Kennebunks transform into a romantic retreat for lovebirds.

The Kennebunks will be decked out in red twinkly lights, while restaurants, hotels, galleries and shops in the area welcome sweethearts with a calendar of special events, romance hotel packages, red plate dining specials, and red tag sales.

SATURDAY, Feb. 1

LOVE IN THE KENNEBUNKS: 12-12:45 p.m. at the Brick Store Museum. It’s cold outside – so warm up with love stories! Learn about the lives of the Kennebunkers of history on a tour through the Museum’s galleries and collections storage, with a Valentine’s-themed twist: love stories! This 45-minute tour through the Museum requires the use of stairs for portions of the program. Cost: $10 per person (half price for museum members!).

SOUPER BOWL 2020: 12-3 p.m. at Maine Classic Car Museum. Enjoy delectable soups by local restaurants paired with wine, look at the amazing car collection while perusing fabulous items donated by local businesses in a silent auction all benefitting Ben's Fight. $25 per person, $40 for two. TICKETS.

SMALL GROUP COCKTAIL CLASS: 1-3 p.m. at Old Vines Wine Bar. Ever wonder how our bartenders create their newest concoctions? Do you know the difference between a tincture and a bitter? PORT WINE TASTING: 5-7 p.m. at Maine & Vine. Sheilah McGovern joins us at Maine & Vine for a free port wine tasting. Sheilah studied oenology and viticulture in Reims, Bordeaux and Beaune and completed an internship with Joseph Phelps in Napa Valley. She has worked for Vineyard Brands, importers of fine wines from family estates and innovative wineries around the world for over 30 years. She travels to many countries tasting wine and foods and learning about the culture, economics, growing conditions and wine techniques of each unique place as well as developing lasting relationships with passionate families from different regions.

LEAP DAY: 7-8 a.m. at The Daily Sweat. It only comes around once every four year so grab your 80s headbands + join us for a heart pumping good time. We'll jam out to old school tunes (yes, think your - or your aunt gertrude's) fav step aerobics tunes. Class is 60 minutes but we'll be switching it up + adding cardio sprints throughout class.

LOVE IN THE KENNEBUNKS: 12-12:45 p.m. at the Brick Store Museum. It’s cold outside – so warm up with love stories! Learn about the lives of the Kennebunkers of history on a tour through the Museum’s galleries and collections storage, with a Valentine’s-themed twist: love stories! This 45-minute tour through the Museum requires the use of stairs for portions of the program. Cost: $10 per person (half price for museum members!).

APRES SKI PARTY: 4-8 p.m. at The Burleigh at the Kennebunkport Inn. We’re waxing up the shot-ski and spiking the Ski Bunny Brew — get ready for the Gondola Bar at the Kennebunkport Inn! Don your favorite ski sweater, and join us for fondue, snacks, and entertainment.  Ticket includes one signature cocktail. Cash bar available for beer, wine, cocktails, and additional ski-inspired beverages. $55 per person. TICKETS
