Nov. 30

Pajama Shopping Day: Various businesses will be open for Pajama Shopping Day, a local celebration of small Business Saturday where shoppers head out in their PJs and get great sales for shopping local. For more information, click here

Local Author Matt Tavares at Brick Store: 10 a.m. at the Brick Store Museum, 117 Main St. Start your day with a magical morning as we welcome local author and illustrator Matt Tavares, creator of the beloved holiday classic Dasher! Matt will be delighting us with a reading from his brand-new book, Dasher Can’t Wait For Christmas, followed by a live drawing demonstration. Enjoy an interactive Q&A session and have your favorite books signed! This is a FREE event, and museum admission will also be free for the morning. Small Business Saturday with TipToe: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at TipToe Eco Marketplace, 68 Main St. Shop Small Business Saturday with TipToe Eco Marketplace. Enjoy a rare storewide furniture sale of 20% off. Additionally, ‘Build a Box’ with 10% of all the contents. For more information, click here.

Cocktail class – holiday punches: 2-4 p.m. at The Elective, 58 Main St. In this class we will take all the flavors of the holidays and combine them in some delicious concoctions. We will go over what the perfect outline for a punch recipe is and how to be creative and seasonal within those parameters. $55 a person. To purchase tickets, click here.

Boulangerie: 4-8pm at Boulangerie, 5 Nasons Court, Suite #12. One Night Only – for the third year, Boulangerie will be open for the opening of Waterhouse Ice Rink. Warm mulled wine, hot soups and chili, focaccia pizza, Nibblesford Mac n Cheese, Cookies, Chocolates, Hot Cider, Hot Chocolates and more! For more information, click here

Tables Downtown: 4-5 p.m., along Main St. some local businesses will have tables out along Main street offering a variety of treats including baked goods, hot chocolate and more!

Treats, caroling and a snow globe: Starting at 4 p.m., various Main Street businesses will be offering free holiday treats at tables along Main Street and there will be a life-size snow globe in Tibbetts Plaza from 4-6 p.m. Stop by and take your photo inside! Kennebunk High School Chamber Choir Singers will also be strolling and singing holiday tunes. For more information, click here.

41st annual Christmas in Kennebunk: There will be a Winter Workshop from 2:30-4:30 at Mark’s Garage that will include build-a-snowman, face painting, make a snow globe and a hot cocoa café. At the same time, weather permitting, everyone can “skate with winter friends” at the Waterhouse Center, where there will also be a 10th anniversary presentation and photos. At 5 p.m. the annual tree lighting will take place in Rotary Park, with the KHS Chamber Choir singing and Santa lighting the tree. For more information, click here.


Dec. 3

Origami Holiday Cards: 1 p.m. at the Brick Store Museum, 117 Main St. Join us and learn to make handmade origami cards for the special people in your life. You will take home at least three completed cards, with envelopes and instructions. Bonus: if you have time, you can make these adorable little origami trees. Threads of Tradition: A Curator’s Tour with Lisanne Miller: 10 a.m. at the Brick Store Museum, 117 Main St. Join us for a special Curator’s Tour of the Threads of Tradition: The History of Rug Hooking in Maine exhibition, guided by Lisanne Miller, co-owner of W. Cushing & Company. Dive into the fascinating history of rug hooking in Maine and learn about the artistry and resourcefulness behind this beloved craft. Lisanne will offer insights into the heritage of W. Cushing & Company, a cornerstone in the textile community since the mid-1800s, and share stories from its long history of supporting rug hooking enthusiasts across generations. Prelude Family Skate Night: 4-6 p.m. at Waterhouse Center. Returning to the Waterhouse Center after a seven-year absence. Enjoy an evening of skating and a free hot cocoa bar. For more information, click here.

Gather and Glow: 4-7 p.m. at The Fifth Om, 5 Nasons Court, Suite 10 (second floor). Join in for an evening of holiday shopping. Shop the studio for natural and organic skincare, wellness products and local art and jewelry. No Glue Woolly Tree Workshop: 2 p.m. at the Brick Store Museum, 117 Main St. Try our NEW NO GLUE Woolly Tree!! A beautiful metal tree frame with wool and lights for you to assemble yourself. Fun to make and easy to do, comes with frame, wool needed, and lights. Everything you will need will be in your kit! Free Wine Class: 5-6:30 p.m. at Wine House on Main, 17 Main St. Wine House on Main is turning three in December, and to celebrate they are offering a free blind wine tasting class to help build your vocabulary and confidence when talking about wine. Fondue Night w/ Nibblesford: 5-7 p.m. at Wine House on Main, 17 Main St. Ian from Nibblesford Cheese Chop will be making two styles of cheese fondue: a classic Swiss style and one with local cheeses. Three Year Anniversary Celebration: 4-7 p.m. at Wine House on Main, 17 Main St. Wine House on Main is turning three and they want to celebrate with you! Dec. 14

Taste of Traditions!: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Brick Store Museum, 117 Main St. Learn more about who called Kennebunk home in the Festival of Traditions display, which features stories of 19th and 20th century immigrants to Kennebunk and their holiday traditions. A “Taste of Traditions!” event on Saturday, December 14 from 10am – 2pm will feature a cookie tasting from desserts around the world associated with historic Kennebunk people who immigrated from varied parts of the world including Syria, Canada, Greece, Germany, Norway, Ireland, Italy, and Austro-Hungary. During the event, Paul & Sally Wells will play Christmas fiddle tunes and local stories will be told by program storytellers. The event is free to Members and $5 per person (free under age 12). Mom + Me Yoga Jingle Ball: 11 a.m. at The Daily Sweat, 65 Portland Road. It’s the most wonderful time of the year. This class will fulfill all YOUR + YOUR littles (grades K – 3) merriest wishes. Get ready to jingle all the way through this class with an epic holiday playlist. Bring your sparkle, mat + water for a fun mom + me style partner yoga class. $25 a pair. Dec. 17

Gingerbread House Exhibition: At the Brick Store Museum, 117 Maine St. Families, individuals (all ages!), and businesses are invited to share their works of gingerbread art with the community for the week before Christmas. All gingerbread houses will go on display on Tuesday, December 17 at 12pm through Saturday, December 21 at 5pm. Gingerbread houses can be simple, fancy, realistic or whimsical. Have fun with creativity, architecture, and design! To Participate: It is FREE to participate. There is no theme as we’d like to see what our community creates! Give us a heads up that you’re bringing your gingerbread house by emailing [email protected] to let us know. Gingerbread lenders must drop off their entries between Tuesday, December 10 through  Sunday, December 14 at the Museum’s Front Desk (please check out Visit Us page for open hours!). Participants will be asked to fill out a simple exhibition card, including Name, Category (Child, Adult, Business), Contact Information, Title and 1-2 Sentences on your gingerbread structure.
